WoW Forever Release Date: November 4, 2026 Launch, Beta and Raid Roadmap
Updated September 15, 2026 · World of Warcraft: Forever
World of Warcraft: Forever is officially scheduled to launch on November 4, 2026 at 3:00 p.m. PST worldwide. Blizzard has also confirmed a beta period beginning September 17, an Early Name Reservation period from October 27 through November 3, and the first raids opening on December 9. Hardcore will arrive after launch, with Blizzard currently placing it somewhere in the 2026–2027 window without announcing a specific release day.
The November 4 launch uses a single worldwide launch time. Blizzard's official wording lists the time as 3:00 p.m. PST, although one Blizzard article also references PDT in its opening text. Because November 4 falls after the United States daylight-saving change, PST is the appropriate time to use for the official launch date.
WoW Forever Launch Date
World of Warcraft: Forever launches on November 4, 2026 at 3:00 p.m. PST.
The game will be available through a normal WoW Subscription or Game Time. Players do not need to purchase one of the optional Forever packs simply to access the game at launch. The paid packs provide additional benefits such as beta access, the Skyborne race, Early Name Reservation, cosmetics, Game Time, and invite codes.
Blizzard announced World of Warcraft: Forever at BlizzCon 2026 on September 12, 2026. The Deep Dive panel followed on September 13 at 10:00 a.m. PDT. Blizzard has not published separate regional go-live times, so the 3:00 p.m. PST worldwide launch time remains the reference point.
World of Warcraft: Forever is designed as an expanded level 60 Classic experience rather than another traditional progression through later expansions. The experience adds new zones, quests, dungeons, raids, classes, races and stories while keeping the level cap at 60 for the foreseeable future.

WoW Forever Beta: September 17 to October 21
The official World of Warcraft: Forever beta begins on September 17, 2026 PST. Blizzard's Battle.net product information currently lists October 21, 2026 PST as the beta's official end date. Some roadmap coverage from Icy Veins and Blizzard Watch lists October 22, but the official Battle.net date is October 21.
Beta access is not included with a standard subscription. Players need either the Skyborne Epic Pack for $59.99 / €59.99 or the Warcraft Forever Collection for $79.99 / €79.99.
The Skyborne Heroic Pack, priced at $29.99 / €29.99, does not include beta access. A normal WoW Subscription or Game Time also does not provide access to the beta.
The beta is intended to test the early part of the Forever experience rather than provide a full progression advantage before launch. Current roadmap information places the beta level cap at 30. Blizzard's on-stage presentation and roadmap coverage have shown the level-30 limit, although this specific detail has not yet appeared in all of Blizzard's written articles.
Blizzard has also not confirmed whether beta characters will carry over to the live game. Players should therefore approach the beta as an opportunity to test leveling routes, zones, camps, quests and the new dungeon experience rather than as permanent progression that can be saved for launch.
The beta takes place before the full November 4 release, when the complete 1–60 leveling experience becomes available.
Early Name Reservation: October 27–November 3
Players who own an eligible World of Warcraft: Forever pack can reserve character names before launch.
The Early Name Reservation period runs from October 27 through November 3, 2026 PST. Blizzard has confirmed that players can create up to three characters during this period, with names available on a first-come, first-served basis.
Forever characters use two-part names consisting of a first name and a last name. Blizzard's Deep Dive presentation provided examples such as "Ana Forever," and names are unique within each region.
Blizzard has not announced a separate paid name-change product for World of Warcraft: Forever, so players who want a particular character name should make use of the reservation period if they own an eligible pack.
Invite-A-Friend Codes
Qualifying Forever pack purchases also provide invite codes. Blizzard plans to begin emailing these codes from October 20, 2026 PST.
Invitees can redeem the codes between November 4 and November 11, 2026 and play World of Warcraft: Forever during that week without their own Subscription or Game Time.
Gift purchases are excluded from the invite-code benefit. The invite period provides temporary access to the game and does not provide a character boost or any form of instant progression.
WoW Forever Raids Unlock December 9
World of Warcraft: Forever does not launch with its first raids immediately available. The first raid content is scheduled to unlock on December 9, 2026.
Blizzard's official What’s Next information confirms two raids for the initial raid release: Barrow Deeps, a 10-player raid, and Hyjal Summit, a 20-player raid. Onyxia's Lair, with 40 players, also appears on the on-stage roadmap, although Blizzard's written What’s Next information specifically names Barrow Deeps and Hyjal Summit.
Raid | Size | Unlock Date | Current Information |
|---|---|---|---|
Barrow Deeps | 10 players | December 9, 2026 | A max-level Night Elf prison with three world entrances, including one in Hyjal |
Hyjal Summit | 20 players | December 9, 2026 | The summit is described as being drained of power |
Onyxia's Lair | 40 players | December 9, 2026 on roadmap | Appears on the on-stage roadmap; further rework details remain unpublished |
Blizzard has not yet published the complete boss counts, attunement requirements or lockout details for the new raids.
New tier sets and a legendary reward are also planned, with Blizzard indicating that additional details will be revealed later.
The roadmap then moves into Spring 2027 and Summer 2027. Spring is scheduled to introduce two additional raids, one with 10 players and one with 20 players, alongside two new dungeons, a new playable area, additional quests, a legendary questline and a PvP season refresh.
The Summer 2027 roadmap includes a new raid, a revamped iconic raid, two new dungeons, expanded world content, professions and Legacy updates, as well as another PvP refresh.

The Cerulean Prideclaw is included, although the riding skill required to use the mount is still purchased in-game.
Skyborne Epic Pack
The Skyborne Epic Pack costs $59.99 / €59.99 and includes everything in the Heroic Pack plus beta access, 30 days of Game Time beginning November 4, the Veteran Adventurer’s Loyal Companion, Outdoor Wear transmog, and additional cosmetic and pet rewards.
The Epic Pack includes Zergling, Panda, Diablo and Pachimari pets for Forever, as well as Lordaeron and Shen’dorei tabards. It also provides two additional invite codes, bringing the total to three.
Warcraft Forever Collection
The Warcraft Forever Collection costs $79.99 / €79.99 and includes everything in the Epic Pack.
It additionally includes Warcraft III: Reforged, the Forsaken Kingdom campaign and Forsaken & Human Figurine Housing decor for modern WoW. Housing requires Midnight.
The Collection is currently scheduled to remain on sale through January 11, 2027.
World of Warcraft: Forever Collector's Edition
Blizzard has also announced a physical Collector's Edition. The package includes the digital Collection code, a 13-inch Dwarf and Bear statue, a Zephras Isle mousepad, art prints, pins and a companion journal.
The physical Collector's Edition box price in USD and EUR has not been published in the available information.
Realmless Rulesets in WoW Forever
One of the major differences in Forever is that the game is realmless. Instead of selecting from a conventional list of named realms, players select the ruleset they want to play.
The announced rulesets include:
Normal: PvP requires consent.
PvP: Contested-territory world PvP with faction balance inspired by the Season of Discovery approach.
Roleplaying: A dedicated roleplaying ruleset.
Hardcore: A separate enclosed Hardcore ecosystem arriving after launch.
Blizzard has described Forever as a "large ecosystem" rather than using the term "mega-realm," and the number of named realms has not been published because the experience is realmless.
Cross-ruleset grouping is not available, and the factions remain separate.
Collections and Legacy Points are account-wide across the standard rulesets, with Hardcore treated differently. Progress can leave Hardcore and transfer to another ruleset, including PvP, but progression from other rulesets does not flow into Hardcore.
WoW Forever Hardcore
Hardcore will not be available at the November 4 launch.
Blizzard currently places the Hardcore ruleset somewhere between 2026 and 2027, without providing a specific calendar day. It will operate as a separate enclosed ecosystem.
The available roadmap information indicates that Hardcore characters can eventually transfer to another ruleset after death, including PvP. However, Blizzard has not yet published a complete Hardcore rulebook covering every detail such as buffs, the Auction House, grouping restrictions and corpse-run mechanics.
A Hardcore panel was also presented during BlizzCon coverage, including discussion around world refreshes, Legacy progression and Mak’gora, but a complete official written recap has not yet been published.
Because the opening date is still unknown, Hardcore services should not be treated as launch-day products.
Spring and Summer 2027 Content
The current on-stage roadmap continues beyond the initial December 2026 raids.
Spring 2027 is scheduled to bring two new raids, one for 10 players and another for 20 players, along with two new dungeons, a new playable area, additional quests, a legendary questline and a PvP season refresh.
Summer 2027 is planned to add a new raid and a revamped iconic raid, two new dungeons, expanded world content, professions and Legacy updates, plus another PvP refresh.
These roadmap entries currently have seasonal windows rather than exact release days.
BlizzCon 2026 WoW Forever Update
Four major Forever-related panels and presentations were covered around BlizzCon 2026.
The September 12 What’s Next presentation officially introduced the roadmap, while the September 13 Deep Dive presentation provided additional information about the systems and design direction. Found Photos and the Hardcore panel added further information, although the Hardcore presentation does not currently have a complete official written recap.
The official cinematic, titled New Horizons, features a Forsaken Paladin and provides additional context for the direction of Forever. A live developer Q&A is scheduled for September 17, the same day the beta begins.
The first raids remain scheduled for December 9, with Barrow Deeps as the 10-player raid and Hyjal Summit as the 20-player raid in Blizzard's written What’s Next information. Onyxia's Lair appears as a 40-player raid on the on-stage roadmap.
The broader roadmap includes additional raids, dungeons, zones, quests, PvP seasons and profession updates throughout 2027.
What to Do Before WoW Forever Launches
Players preparing for World of Warcraft: Forever can use the following timeline to organize their launch plans.
Now through September 16
Decide whether beta access is important to you. If you want to participate in the beta, you need the Skyborne Epic Pack or Warcraft Forever Collection. The Heroic Pack does not include beta access.
Because the beta level cap is currently based on the on-stage roadmap, players should also keep in mind that the level-30 detail may receive additional clarification from Blizzard.
September 17 through October 21
The beta opens on September 17. Players with access can test the available early-game content, including Hall of Thanes, Ruins of Lordaeron, the Wetlands excavation and as much of the City of Dalaran as their beta character can reach.
Do not assume that beta characters will survive into the live game, as Blizzard has not confirmed character carryover.
From October 20
Invite codes begin arriving by email for qualifying pack purchasers. These codes are designed to give a friend temporary access during the first week after launch, rather than providing any kind of character boost.
October 27 through November 3
Early Name Reservation becomes available. Players with an eligible pack can reserve up to three characters, with names being claimed on a first-come, first-served basis within each region.
November 4, 2026 at 3:00 p.m. PST
World of Warcraft: Forever officially launches worldwide.
A normal Subscription or Game Time is enough to access the game. Players who want the Skyborne race and Zephras Isle need the Heroic Pack or a higher edition.
The launch experience includes 1–60 leveling, no flying, no level scaling and more than 1,000 new quests according to Blizzard's current Forever information.
For players who want to save time while progressing through the new Classic+ experience, misti.services offers WoW Forever Powerleveling for players looking for assistance with their leveling journey.
November 4 through November 11
Players who receive an invite code can access Forever during the first week without their own Subscription or Game Time.
This period is primarily an opportunity to experience the new game rather than a raid progression window.
December 9
The first Forever raids unlock.
Barrow Deeps and Hyjal Summit are scheduled to open on this date, while Onyxia's Lair is included on the current on-stage roadmap.
Players planning around raid progression should therefore treat December 9 as the first major endgame milestone rather than November 4.
Hardcore
Hardcore comes after launch and is currently scheduled for sometime during the 2026–2027 period. Blizzard has not announced an exact release date.
Players should not assume that Hardcore will be available during the November 4 launch period.
WoW Forever Leveling and Launch Preparation
The November 4 launch begins the full 1–60 Forever leveling experience. Unlike the beta, the live game is intended to provide the complete progression journey, including the new zones, quests, dungeons, classes, races and other additions Blizzard has announced.
There is no level scaling, and flying is not part of the launch leveling experience. With more than 1,000 new quests and a large amount of Classic-style content to explore, players will have multiple ways to approach their journey to level 60.
Players who prefer to level independently can explore the new zones and questlines at their own pace. Those with limited time can also plan their routes in advance or use a professional leveling service to reduce the amount of time required to reach the endgame.
For players looking specifically for professional assistance with the new Forever leveling experience, see the misti.services WoW Forever Powerleveling service.
Important WoW Forever Details Blizzard Has Not Confirmed
Although Blizzard has announced a large amount of information about Forever, several details remain unpublished.
Blizzard has not yet provided a Forever-specific instant-level-60 policy, complete Token policy or detailed boosting policy in the currently available Forever announcements. Existing company-wide real-money rules continue to apply as Blizzard policy, but these should not be interpreted as new Forever-specific announcements.
Blizzard has also not published complete raid boss counts, attunement requirements or lockout information for Barrow Deeps and Hyjal Summit.
The exact Hardcore launch date remains unknown, and the complete Hardcore ruleset has not yet been published.
The beta character carryover policy is also still unconfirmed.

World of Warcraft: Forever launches on November 4, 2026 at 3:00 p.m. PST, giving players a new way to experience Azeroth through an expanded level-60 Classic environment.
The beta begins September 17, Early Name Reservation runs from October 27 through November 3, and the first raids arrive on December 9. The launch itself focuses on the complete 1–60 experience, while later roadmap seasons will expand the world with additional raids, dungeons, quests, zones, professions, PvP content and other systems.
Hardcore is also planned, but it will arrive after launch and does not currently have a specific release day.
For players preparing for launch, the most important dates are September 17 for the beta, October 27 for name reservation, November 4 for the worldwide launch and December 9 for the first raids. If reaching level 60 quickly is a priority, you can also prepare your character and leveling plans ahead of launch or use the misti.services WoW Forever Powerleveling service when the live game opens.
