WoW Mythic+ & Raider.IO Guide

How the Mythic+ Rating System Works in WoW: Midnight Season 1

If you're pushing Mythic+ dungeons in World of Warcraft: Midnight Season 1, understanding how the Mythic+ rating system works is essential. Your Mythic+ rating isn't just a number—it determines how other players view your experience, whether you get invited to groups, and your overall progression for the season.

What is Raider.IO vs General WoW Mythic+ Score?

For years, the community relied entirely on Raider.IO, a third-party website and addon that tracked dungeon completions and assigned players a score based on the highest keystones they completed. This became the standard for group finding.

Eventually, Blizzard integrated their own official general WoW Mythic+ score directly into the game UI, heavily inspired by Raider.IO. Today, both scores are nearly identical in calculation. When you use our Mythic+ Calculator, it accurately predicts both your official in-game score and your Raider.IO score. You can import your character directly from Raider.IO above to see exactly what runs you need to do to hit your next milestone.

Midnight Season 1 Mythic+ Changes

The structure of Mythic+ has evolved in Midnight Season 1. The most significant change is the removal of the Tyrannical and Fortified split. You no longer need to run the same dungeon on two different weeks to maximize your score.

  • Single Best Run: Your single best completed key provides 100% of the score for that dungeon.
  • Timer Bonus: Completing the dungeon faster (upgrading it by +2 or +3) grants bonus points.
  • Affix Breakpoints: Major affixes are introduced at specific keystone levels, providing a massive boost in score for successfully completing them.

Keystone Levels and Base Rating

The foundation of your Mythic+ rating comes from the keystone level itself. A +2 dungeon starts at 155 rating. Every additional keystone level increases the base rating by 15 points.

Time Bonus Explained

Finishing a dungeon before the timer expires rewards additional Mythic+ rating. The bonus scales linearly based on how much time remains, with a maximum bonus of 15 rating.

  • Exactly on time: +0 Bonus
  • 20% faster (2-chest): +7.5 Bonus
  • 40% faster (3-chest): +15 Bonus

Dungeon Tier List & Routes

Certain dungeons in the Midnight Season 1 pool are notoriously harder than others. To maximize your score quickly, focus your efforts on the easiest dungeons first (often called "free rating"). How to Reach Keystone Master (KSM) Fast

To reach a score of 2,000 for Keystone Master (and earn the seasonal mount), you generally need to complete every dungeon in the pool on a +7 keystone level (timed). Using our Raider.IO Score Planner above, you can tweak the sliders to find the exact combination of +6s, +7s, and +8s that gets you over the 2,000 threshold.

How to Reach Keystone Hero (KSH) Fast

To reach a score of 2,500 for Keystone Hero, you will need to aim for roughly all +10 keystone levels timed. This grants you the maximum seasonal rewards, including teleports to the dungeons. Reaching this level requires solid routing, interrupting, and coordination.

Frequently Asked Questions

Mythic+ rating is a score that represents your overall experience and success in Mythic+ dungeons. It increases as you complete higher keystone levels and finish dungeons faster.

Rating is calculated based on the highest keystone level completed for each dungeon, whether you beat the timer, and seasonal affix breakpoints (+5, +7, +10, +12).

Yes, beating the timer awards bonus rating. The bonus scales linearly based on remaining time, up to a maximum of 15 additional points for a very fast completion.

If you do not beat the timer, you still receive rating for completing the dungeon, but with a penalty based on how far over the timer you went. You do not lose rating you already have.

In The War Within Season 1, there are no longer separate scores for Tyrannical and Fortified. Your single best completed key provides 100% of the score for that dungeon.

In Midnight Season 1, the major difficulty breakpoints are at +5, +7, +10, and +12. Reaching these levels awards a significant jump in base rating (+15 bonus).

A timed +10 key awards a base score of 320, plus any time bonus (up to 15 points) and affix breakpoint bonuses.

Your score will only increase if the run you just completed awards more points than your previous best run for that specific dungeon. Running lower keys won't increase your score.

Keystone Master usually requires a rating of 2000. You can achieve this by completing every dungeon at around a +7 to +8 level, or by doing a mix of higher and lower keys.

Keystone Hero requires a rating of 2500. This typically involves completing all dungeons at around a +10 level, depending on your time bonuses.
