Siege of Orgrimmar Raid in MoP Classic

The centerpiece of Phase 5 is Siege of Orgrimmar (SoO), the final raid tier of Mists of Pandaria featuring 14 bosses across four wings.

Players will face iconic encounters before ultimately challenging Garrosh Hellscream, one of WoW’s most memorable expansion-ending bosses.

One of the biggest changes in MoP Classic is the return of Flexible Raid difficulty (Flex Mode). Unlike Raid Finder from original MoP, which is not included in Classic, Flex difficulty becomes the easiest raid format available.

Flexible difficulty scales between 10 and 25 players, making it significantly easier for guilds and groups with inconsistent roster sizes.

An important advantage in MoP Classic is that Flex and Normal difficulty use completely separate weekly lockouts. This means players can clear both difficulties during the same reset for additional loot and faster Tier 16 progression.

Another major reason to raid early is the Kor'kron Juggernaut mount. While Siege of Orgrimmar remains current-tier content, Heroic Garrosh Hellscream drops this mount at a guaranteed 100% rate. Once the expansion cycle moves on, the mount becomes significantly rarer.

The Timeless Isle

The Timeless Isle is one of the most beloved endgame zones in WoW history and arrives with Phase 5.

Located east of the Jade Forest, this zone offers a more open-ended progression experience compared to previous daily-focused content.

Players can farm:

  • Timeless Coins

  • Rare enemies

  • Hidden treasures

  • Mounts and cosmetics

  • Catch-up gear for alts

  • Weekly world bosses

Timeless Coins can be exchanged for Bind-on-Account gear tokens, helping players gear alts quickly for raiding and endgame activities.

Timeless Isle World Bosses

Phase 5 adds five world bosses to the Timeless Isle ecosystem.

The four August CelestialsChi-Ji, Niuzao, Xuen, and Yu'lon — reward valuable Tier 16 raid tokens.

The fifth boss, Ordos, offers even stronger rewards but comes with an important requirement: players must complete the Legendary Cloak questline on at least one character to gain access.

Legendary Cloak Finale

The long-running Wrathion Legendary questline finally reaches its conclusion in Phase 5.

Players completing the storyline receive a powerful item level 600 Legendary Cloak, designed for their specialization.

The available cloaks include:

Xing-Ho, Breath of Yu'lon
Best for caster DPS classes such as Mages, Warlocks, Shadow Priests, Elemental Shamans, and Balance Druids.

Jina-Kang, Kindness of Chi-Ji
Designed for healers including Priests, Restoration Druids, Holy Paladins, Mistweaver Monks, and Restoration Shamans.

Gong-Lu, Strength of Xuen
Made for Strength and Agility users including Warriors, Rogues, Hunters, Paladins, Monks, Enhancement Shamans, and Death Knights.

Completing the Legendary Cloak on one character unlocks Ordos access account-wide, though players must still equip the cloak to enter the sanctuary.

Proving Grounds

Phase 5 also introduces Proving Grounds, a solo challenge scenario accessible through the Temple of the White Tiger.

Players can test their abilities through:

  • Bronze difficulty

  • Silver difficulty

  • Gold difficulty

  • Endless mode

Each challenge can be completed as a Tank, Healer, or DPS, allowing players to improve mechanics and class performance in a controlled environment before entering raids.

Celestial Tournament

Pet battle fans gain access to the Celestial Tournament, one of the toughest pet battle challenges in Mists of Pandaria.

Located on the Timeless Isle, players must defeat multiple legendary trainers and celestial pets without healing between encounters.

Successful players can earn one of four celestial companion pets:

  • Xu-Fu

  • Chi-Chi

  • Zao

  • Yu'la

These pets are highly collectible and remain some of the most iconic companions in the expansion.

PvP Season 14

Phase 5 launches PvP Season 14, featuring the Grievous Gladiator gear set.

Players can compete across battlegrounds and arenas while gearing through a mature PvP ecosystem that already includes maps such as Celestial Arena and Deepwind Gorge.

Season 14 provides competitive item levels and fresh progression opportunities for players who prefer PvP over raiding.

Tier 16 Gear and Separate Raid Lockouts

Tier 16 raid gear follows a token-based system instead of direct armor drops.

Bosses in Siege of Orgrimmar drop:

  • Protector Tokens

  • Vanquisher Tokens

  • Conqueror Tokens

These tokens are exchanged for class-specific set items near the raid entrance.

The most efficient gearing strategy during Phase 5 is simple:

Run both Flex and Normal difficulty every week.

Since both raid modes have separate lockouts, players effectively double their chances at Tier 16 pieces and faster progression.
