April 7: Raid Finder and Story Mode
March on Quel’Danas is one of the first major raids of Midnight Season 1 and serves as a key turning point in the expansion’s storyline.
By the time players arrive, the Isle of Quel’Danas and the skies above Silvermoon are fully consumed by darkness. The raid represents the final attempt to stop the Sunwell from being completely overtaken by Void corruption.
At the center of the story is L’ura, a fallen naaru whose corrupted energy is transforming the Sunwell into a dangerous entity known as the Darkwell. This makes the raid more than just a progression step — it is a major narrative moment shaping the future of the expansion.
The first encounter introduces Belo’ren, a phoenix connected to Al’ar. Rather than being purely hostile, it is portrayed as a corrupted guardian of the Sunwell, forced into conflict by Void influence.
The final fight, Midnight Falls, is not a traditional boss battle. Instead, players face the corruption itself, fighting to prevent the Sunwell from being completely consumed.
The raid is located on the Isle of Quel’Danas, north of Silvermoon, connected by a long bridge.
The raid consists of two main arenas:
Outer Terrace – where you fight Belo’ren
The Darkwell (Sunwell) – final encounter location
Minimum Level: 90
Raid Finder Requirement: Item Level 220
Higher difficulties require higher item level
This encounter revolves around managing Light and Void energies and coordinating your raid accordingly.
At the start of the fight, players are assigned one of two effects:
Light Feather → reduces Holy damage taken by 50%
Void Feather → reduces Shadow damage taken by 50%
Players must interact only with mechanics matching their assigned type and avoid the opposite.
The fight begins with Voidlight Convergence, dealing raid-wide damage and assigning players their Light or Void affinity.
Tanks should position the boss facing away from the raid
Raid should stay spread and adjust constantly
Cast Light Dive / Void Dive
Targeted player gets a circle → matching players must soak
Leaves Light or Void patches on the ground
Opposite affinity players take heavy damage from these zones
After soaking:
Adds cast Eruption (raid-wide damage)
Must be interrupted by players with matching affinity
When killed:
Adds turn into eggs
Must be destroyed within 15 seconds or they respawn
Frontal attack (Light or Void based)
Must hit a player or boss gains 30% damage buff
Tanks must rotate correctly and face away from raid
Light and Void orbs move across the arena
Players should:
Clear matching orbs safely
Avoid opposite-type orbs (lethal damage)
Used to create movement space for the raid
Targets a player with a Light or Void projectile
If mismatch:
Another player must intercept the projectile
Applies damage-over-time and healing absorbs
Comes in Light and Void variants
Final slam in the center
Damage reduced with distance
At 0 HP, Belo’ren transforms into an egg and begins Rebirth (30 sec cast).
Destroy the egg before the cast finishes
Avoid environmental damage
Floor splits into Light and Void sections
Sections explode periodically
Players must stand in matching zones
If the egg is not destroyed:
Boss revives
Players are reassigned affinities
Raid receives stacking debuff:
Reduced healing effectiveness
This creates increasing difficulty over time.
This fight represents the final stage of the Sunwell’s corruption.
Instead of a standard boss, players fight against the spreading Void energy itself. The encounter focuses heavily on environmental mechanics and survival while preventing total corruption.
Full strategy details coming soon.
