WARDOGS Weapon Unlock Guide: Levels, Cash Costs and Best Picks
Every weapon in WARDOGS is locked behind two separate costs: a Role Level requirement and a Cash unlock fee. Clearing the level doesn't hand you the gun for free, either — once it's unlocked, you still have to buy it from a vendor at its own purchase price. Get the order wrong and you'll end up grinding a role you don't need, or sitting on Cash you can't spend yet.
Here's everything you need to know: how the unlock system works, the Role Level and Cash requirements for every gun in Season 1, and which weapons are actually worth prioritizing.

How the Unlock System Works
Each weapon belongs to one of five progression tracks — Assault, Medic, Recon, Support, or the combined Career track used for pistols. Leveling that track high enough opens an unlock prompt in the Progression menu; paying its Cash fee there makes the weapon purchasable. You then still need to buy it from a vendor, and that purchase price is separate from the unlock fee.
To go from "locked" to "in your loadout":
Open the Progression tab and pick the track your target weapon belongs to.
Check the Role Level and unlock fee listed next to it.
Earn XP in that track specifically — the matching weapon type and role-relevant actions count, not your overall WARDOG Level.
Once you hit the level, pay the unlock fee from the Progression menu.
Head to a vendor and buy the weapon itself, plus ammo or attachments.
A high overall WARDOG Level won't substitute for a Role Level requirement. The M4, for instance, needs Assault Level 20 specifically — reaching WARDOG Level 20 through other roles doesn't count. If a specific role is the bottleneck, our WARDOGS Class Leveling service can push that track to the level you need while you focus on matches you actually want to play.
Weapon Unlock Requirements by Track
Assault (Rifles)
Weapon | Assault Level | Unlock Fee | Purchase Price |
|---|---|---|---|
AK74 | 3 | $10,000 | $1,600 |
Galil | 10 | $35,000 | $2,200 |
M4 | 20 | $100,000 | $2,800 |
FAL | 35 | $200,000 | $6,500 |
The AK74 is a cheap first upgrade over the starter T-21. The FAL is a serious investment both to unlock and to keep replacing after deaths.
Medic (SMGs)
Weapon | Medic Level | Unlock Fee | Purchase Price |
|---|---|---|---|
PP-19 Vityaz | 4 | $25,000 | $1,200 |
MP5 | 15 | $75,000 | $1,500 |
Super-45 | 35 | $150,000 | $2,600 |
Recon (Marksman & Sniper Rifles, Bow)
Weapon | Recon Level | Unlock Fee | Purchase Price |
|---|---|---|---|
SKS | 5 | $25,000 | $2,400 |
Mosin Nagant | 10 | $50,000 | $4,500 |
SVD | 12 | $50,000 | $4,800 |
Compound Bow | 17 | $125,000 | $800 |
SV98 | 19 | $100,000 | $5,200 |
MK22 | 25 | $150,000 | $6,400 |
BMR-308 | 30 | $125,000 | $6,000 |
AMR 50 | 35 | $200,000 | $8,800 |
The SKS is the easiest early pickup for semi-auto follow-up shots over the bolt-action Scout Rifle TD. The AMR 50 tops the track and carries an $8,800 price tag on top of the unlock fee.
Support (Shotguns, LMGs, Launchers)
Weapon | Support Level | Unlock Fee | Purchase Price |
|---|---|---|---|
RPG-7 | 5 | $30,000 | $2,000 |
M500 | 10 | $50,000 | $1,200 |
M249 SAW | 15 | $100,000 | $3,200 |
9K333 Verba | 16 | $50,000 | $800 |
MAAWS | 20 | $125,000 | $2,600 |
PKM | 30 | $150,000 | $4,500 |
MGL-40 | 35 | $200,000 | $6,000 |
Career (Pistols)
Weapon | Career Level | Unlock Fee | Purchase Price |
|---|---|---|---|
GGX 17 | 1 | $5,000 | $200 |
Judge | 18 | $15,000 | $250 |
M1911 | 40 | $25,000 | $300 |
GGX 18 | 70 | $50,000 | $800 |
Deagle | 85 | $75,000 | $900 |
Career Level is cumulative across all six roles (Driver and Pilot included), so mixing playstyles — healing one match, running Support the next — still moves you toward the Deagle at 85. If Career Level is the wall in your way, our WARDOGS Account Leveling service raises overall progression across every role instead of grinding one track.
Unlocking Weapons Faster
Track | What Earns XP | Example Target |
|---|---|---|
Assault | Assault rifle kills | M4 at Assault 20 |
Medic | SMG kills, healing, reviving | MP5 at Medic 15 |
Recon | Spotting, marksman/sniper kills | SVD at Recon 12 |
Support | Building, vehicle repair, shotgun/LMG/launcher kills | M249 SAW at Support 15 |
Career | Any role's XP | Deagle at Career 85 |
A few things that stretch your Cash further while you grind:
Stick with cheap gear (the $600 T-21, for example) instead of repeatedly replacing an expensive weapon after every death.
Combine role-relevant actions where you can — healing between SMG fights, or building before returning to a Support-weapon fight.
Set the unlock fee aside before spending on optional attachments.
Keep a small reserve after unlocking so you can actually replace the weapon once you lose it.
If Cash is the slower half of the equation, our WARDOGS Cash Farming service builds up your balance so the unlock fee isn't what's holding you back.
Best Weapons to Unlock First
Weapon | Requirement | Why Grab It Early |
|---|---|---|
AK74 | Assault 3 + $10,000 | Cheapest rifle upgrade, low grind |
PP-19 Vityaz | Medic 4 + $25,000 | Solid early SMG for a healing-focused build |
SKS | Recon 5 + $25,000 | Semi-auto follow-up shots over the starter bolt-action |
RPG-7 | Support 5 + $30,000 | Early anti-vehicle option |
M500 | Support 10 + $50,000 | Close-range shotgun upgrade |
Recon players should make the SKS their first target; Support players who keep running into vehicles will get more out of the RPG-7 first. There's no need to rush the top-tier weapons (FAL, AMR 50, MGL-40) — they're expensive enough that unlocking them early just eats into Cash you need elsewhere.
FAQ
Why is a weapon still locked even though I have enough Cash?
Cash covers the unlock fee and the purchase price, but not the Role Level requirement. Check the specific track the weapon needs — your overall WARDOG Level doesn't override it.
Do I have to pay the unlock fee again after dying?
No. Once unlocked, a weapon stays unlocked. Dying only means buying a fresh copy from the vendor.
Can I use a weapon before I've unlocked it myself?
Yes, if you pick one up from a fallen player. That doesn't add it to your own Progression menu — buying it yourself later still needs the Role Level and unlock fee.
Can I mix weapons from different tracks in one loadout?
Yes, loadouts aren't restricted to a single track. What matters for progression is which weapons and actions you're actually using in a match.
Does unlocking a weapon include its attachments?
Not always. Some unlocks include a matching magazine, but optics, muzzles, and other attachments often have their own requirements — check before budgeting your full setup.
Whichever track you're grinding, the fastest path is usually a mix of playing the role naturally and filling the slow parts with a boost.
