WoW Midnight Season 2 Tier Set Guide: Every Class Bonus

The Venomous Abyss goes live on August 18, bringing a full set of class tier armor with it: thirteen sets, one per class, all built around the serpentine, corrupted theme of Ula'tek and the Coiled Isle. Every spec gets a 2-piece and a 4-piece bonus, and quite a few of them don't just pad your damage meter. They actually change how the spec plays.

This guide breaks down every set: what it looks like, what each bonus does, and where to get the pieces. If you'd rather skip the RNG entirely, our Midnight Season 2 gearing services can get you geared for launch. Class links are scattered throughout if you want the fast route.

Note: All bonus values below come from the current 12.1 PTR build. Blizzard tunes tier sets right up until raid launch, so treat exact percentages as directional until Season 2 goes live and we can confirm against the patch notes.

How to Get Midnight Season 2 Tier Pieces

You don't need to rely on a single source. There are four ways to build a set:

  • The Venomous Abyss raid. Tier tokens drop from specific bosses across the raid and convert into whichever slot matches your current spec.

  • The Great Vault. Weekly raid, Mythic+, and PvP activity can roll a class-set piece as one of your vault choices.

  • Rated PvP. Set pieces are also awarded through the rated PvP reward track.

  • The Catalyst. Any eligible Season 2 armor (Mythic+ loot, world drops, crafted gear) can be converted into a missing tier piece. On Season 2's Catalyst, converted pieces keep the secondary stats of whatever you feed in, so a Haste/Crit piece from a dungeon comes out as a Haste/Crit tier piece.

You only need 4 of the 5 pieces to unlock the full set bonus. That leaves the 5th slot open for a stronger off-set item, whether that's a higher item level piece or one with better secondary stats.

Farming all of this through weekly resets alone can take several weeks of Great Vault rolls and lucky raid drops. If you want a full 4-piece set before the second or third week of the season, our gearing services get you there directly: raid runs, Mythic+ carries, and Catalyst-ready loot, all in a fraction of the time.

FAQ

Do I need all 5 tier pieces to get the full bonus? No. Only 4 of the 5 pieces are needed to unlock the complete 2-piece and 4-piece bonuses. The 5th slot is free for a stronger off-set item: a higher item level piece, better secondary stats, or a trinket-adjacent special effect.

Where do Midnight Season 2 tier pieces drop from? The Venomous Abyss raid (token drops from specific bosses), the Great Vault, rated PvP rewards, and the Catalyst, which converts eligible Season 2 armor into a missing tier slot.

Can I convert Mythic+ gear into tier pieces? Yes, through the Catalyst. On Season 2's version, converted pieces keep the secondary stats of whatever item you feed in. That makes farming specific stat combos in Mythic+ a viable way to shape your tier set before you've killed a single raid boss.

Are these bonuses final? No. This is PTR data, and Blizzard typically adjusts tier set numbers right up to launch. We'll update this guide once Season 2 goes live on August 18.

Ready to skip the grind? Our Midnight Season 2 gearing services cover every class and spec above: raid carries, Mythic+ runs, and Catalyst-ready loot, all built to get your 4-piece done before progression really gets moving.
