AION 2 Daevanion Board Guide: How to Spend Points and Choose the Best Nodes

If you want to make your character stronger in AION 2, the Daevanion Board is one of the progression systems you should start working on early. It gives you access to additional stats and skill levels, and the improvements become increasingly important as you move toward more demanding PvE and PvP content.

The confusing part is knowing where to spend your points. Each board contains dozens of nodes, some provide small stat increases, and others improve specific skills or grant stronger percentage-based bonuses. Since your available points are limited, unlocking nodes without a plan can leave you short of the upgrades that would make the biggest difference.

This guide explains how the Daevanion Board works in AION 2 Global, when each board becomes available, how to earn Daevanion points, and which upgrades you should consider first.

What Is the Daevanion Board in AION 2?

The Daevanion Board is a permanent character progression system built around connected nodes. You unlock these nodes using Daevanion points to improve your stats and, on the first four boards, increase the levels of selected active and passive skills.

Your first board becomes available at level 12. Additional boards unlock as you level, giving you more opportunities to strengthen your character without relying entirely on equipment drops or enhancement materials.

Each board starts with an unlocked central node. From there, you work outward, unlocking adjacent nodes until you reach the bonuses you want. The important detail is that you cannot simply purchase a distant node without paying for the route leading to it.

This is why planning matters. A powerful node may look inexpensive on its own, but the surrounding nodes required to reach it increase the total cost.

Daevanion progression is also useful when working toward higher Gear Score requirements. Allocating available points can contribute to your progression without requiring you to replace a weapon or armor piece. For more information about these milestones, see our AION 2 Gear Score Guide.

All Five Daevanion Boards and Their Unlock Levels

AION 2 Global currently has five Daevanion boards. The first four focus on general character progression and skill upgrades, while Azphel is dedicated to PvP.

Daevanion Board

Unlock Level

Main Focus

Nezekan

12

Combat Speed, Cooldown Reduction, skills and basic stats

Zikel

20

Damage Boost, Damage Tolerance, skills and basic stats

Vaizel

30

Critical Damage, Critical Damage Tolerance and skills

Triniel

40

Multi-hit Chance, Multi-hit Resist and broader progression

Azphel

45

PvP stats and combat bonuses

The first four boards use the same pool of regular Daevanion points. This means that points spent on Nezekan are no longer available for Zikel, Vaizel, or Triniel.

Azphel works differently because it uses its own PvP-related currency. You can progress toward Azphel without taking points away from your four general boards.

You may find guides showing additional boards such as Ariel, Marchutan, or Yustiel. These are associated with other regional versions or progression plans and should not be treated as available boards in the current Global setup.

Understanding Daevanion Node Types and Costs

Nodes provide different rewards, and their cost depends on their type. Understanding the differences makes it much easier to decide which paths are worth taking.

Node Type

Cost

What It Provides

Gray nodes

1 point

Basic character stats

Green nodes

2 points

Passive skill level increases

Blue nodes

3 points

Active skill level increases

Orange nodes

4 points

Strong percentage-based stat bonuses

Gray nodes are the most common. They provide useful foundational stats, such as HP, Attack, Defense, and Critical Hit, depending on the board and node.

Green nodes improve passive skills, which can provide benefits throughout combat rather than requiring you to activate an ability manually. Blue nodes increase active skill levels, making them particularly interesting if you rely on a small group of important abilities.

Orange nodes are among the most valuable targets because they provide percentage-based bonuses. These can include effects such as Combat Speed, Cooldown Reduction, Damage Boost, Critical Damage Boost, and Multi-hit Chance.

The drawback is that orange nodes tend to sit farther from the board's starting point. Reaching one may require several ordinary nodes along the way, so the true cost includes every node in the route.

Do not assume that a four-point orange node costs only four points in practice. Plan the entire path and see which useful bonuses you can collect along the way.

How to Get Daevanion Points in AION 2

You do not have to rely on a single activity to progress your boards. Several parts of the game provide opportunities to earn Daevanion points or the resources needed to obtain them.

1. Level Up Your Character

Character leveling provides Daevanion progression as you advance through the game. This is one reason the system becomes relevant relatively early rather than only after reaching the endgame.

Open the Daevanion interface whenever you unlock a new board or reach a progression milestone. Check your available points and see whether you can improve a core skill or reach a useful stat bonus.

2. Complete Regional Quests

Regional quests are worth doing even when you are primarily interested in reaching higher levels. Some provide Daevanion-related rewards alongside experience and other progression materials.

Instead of rushing through the main story while ignoring everything else, check the rewards offered by nearby side content. Completing useful quests along your leveling route can help you develop your board without requiring a separate farming session.

Our AION 2 Leveling Guide covers efficient character progression from levels 1 to 45 and helps you make better use of your time.

3. Clear Sealed Dungeons

Sealed Dungeons provide another source of Daevanion-related rewards. These smaller instances are scattered throughout the world and can be completed as part of your wider character progression.

Check which dungeons are available around your level and prioritize ones that offer rewards you still need. Clearing them while exploring is often more efficient than returning later to complete a large backlog of missed content.

Sealed Dungeons also fit naturally into your broader progression plan because they can provide rewards beyond Daevanion points.

For a detailed breakdown of these activities, read our AION 2 Empyrean Traces, Sealed Dungeons and Strongholds Guide.

4. Check Available Shops and Crafting Options

Some in-game shops offer relevant progression resources, while certain Daevanion fragments can be converted into usable crystals through Substance Morph.

The available options depend on the currency you have, your progression stage, and the item currently offered by each shop. Check the exchange requirements before spending valuable resources on points that could be obtained through regular gameplay.

The best approach is to combine the rewards available from leveling, quests, dungeons, and other activities rather than depending on one source alone.

5. Earn Azphel Progression Through PvP

Azphel uses a separate currency, so its progression follows a different route from the first four boards. PvP activities and their associated reward systems are important sources to investigate when you begin developing this board.

Battlefields, Abyss-related activities, and other qualifying sources can contribute to your PvP progression, depending on their available rewards. Check the current currency shops and activity descriptions to see which options provide the resources you need.

Do not delay your regular Daevanion upgrades while waiting to unlock Azphel. You can continue investing in general character progression while gradually earning the separate resources required for the PvP board.

Which Daevanion Nodes Should You Unlock First?

There is no single perfect route for every character. The strongest choice depends on your class, the skills you use most often, and whether you are primarily focused on PvE or PvP.

However, a few general principles make the decision easier.

Prioritize Important Active Skills

For the first four boards, blue nodes that increase active skill levels are often excellent early targets. Focus on abilities that you use regularly in your combat rotation, rather than choosing skills simply because their nodes are nearby.

Improving the abilities you rely on most can have a more noticeable effect on actual performance than collecting random stat increases across the board.

Consider both your primary damage skills and the supporting abilities that help you control enemies, maintain damage, or survive difficult encounters. The best choice depends on your class and how you have developed it.

Do Not Ignore Passive Skills

Green nodes can also provide meaningful improvements. Passive skills may support damage, survivability, or other aspects of your build, making them worth considering when planning a route.

Check which passive skills have the greatest impact on your character. Some nodes may require additional investment to reach, so compare their benefits with the active skill upgrades and orange nodes available along alternative paths.

It is usually better to invest with a clear objective than to spend points evenly across every available skill.

For additional advice on ability upgrades, see our AION 2 Skill Progression Guide.

Work Toward Valuable Orange Nodes

Orange nodes provide powerful percentage-based bonuses and can be worthwhile investments once you understand the route required to reach them.

Each of the four general boards emphasizes different stats. Nezekan offers Combat Speed and Cooldown Reduction, Zikel focuses on Damage Boost and Damage Tolerance, Vaizel emphasizes Critical Damage-related bonuses, and Triniel provides Multi-hit-related bonuses.

Rather than choosing an orange node automatically, consider which stats support your class and equipment. A bonus that improves your current build may be more useful than one that looks attractive but contributes little to your actual combat performance.

Also look at the nodes between your starting point and the orange target. A route that passes through useful skill nodes can provide much better value than one that only collects filler stats.

Use Gray Nodes to Complete Efficient Routes

Gray nodes are not useless simply because they cost less or provide smaller bonuses. You need connected paths to reach many of the more valuable nodes, and the basic stat increases add up as your board develops.

The key is to avoid buying gray nodes without knowing where you are going. When planning a route, consider the total cost and whether the intermediate bonuses contribute anything useful to your character.

Sometimes a few additional stat nodes are a sensible investment. In other situations, saving those points for a nearby skill upgrade will provide a better return.

A Practical Daevanion Progression Plan

If you are unsure how to begin, follow this general approach and adjust it as your character develops.

At level 12, start with Nezekan. Review the available skill nodes and identify those that improve abilities you use regularly. Consider its Combat Speed and Cooldown Reduction bonuses when planning longer routes.

At level 20, add Zikel to your plan. Look at the active and passive skills available on the board and compare its Damage Boost-related bonuses with your current needs. Continue spending points from the shared pool carefully.

At level 30, develop Vaizel. This board introduces Critical Damage-related bonuses. Check whether they complement your current build before committing to a longer path.

At level 40, start working on Triniel. Its larger board and Multi-hit-related bonuses offer further opportunities to improve your character. Plan the cost of each route instead of trying to unlock every node immediately.

At level 45, consider Azphel if you play PvP. Since it uses a separate currency and focuses on PvP, it can be developed independently of your regular Daevanion progression.

You do not need to finish one board completely before touching the next. In many cases, unlocking specific skills or valuable stat bonuses across several boards is a more practical way to improve your character.

Should You Focus on PvE or PvP Daevanion Progression?

Your intended content should influence how you spend your resources.

For PvE, the first four boards are generally the priority. They provide additional skill levels and general combat stats, helping you progress through quests, dungeons, and harder encounters. Choose the skill nodes that fit your rotation and the stat bonuses that help you clear content more effectively.

For PvP, Azphel becomes relevant once it unlocks. It focuses on player-versus-player stats and does not provide the same skill-level nodes found on the first four boards. This makes it a separate investment rather than a direct replacement for general character development.

You do not have to choose between these areas forever. Develop your general progression first, then invest in the PvP board when you have the appropriate resources and a clear reason to improve your competitive build.

If you participate regularly in both types of content, review your equipment and skill choices alongside your board. Your overall build should work together rather than treating each progression system as an isolated checklist.

Common Daevanion Board Mistakes to Avoid

Spending points without planning a route. A distant node can cost much more than its displayed price once you include the required connecting nodes. Check the entire path before committing.

Ignoring skill-level nodes. General stats are useful, but the opportunity to improve your main active and passive skills is one of the key benefits of the first four boards. Do not overlook these upgrades while collecting ordinary nodes.

Unlocking nodes for skills you rarely use. An additional skill level is only valuable when it benefits your actual build. Focus first on abilities that support your rotation and role.

Trying to complete every board immediately. Daevanion points are limited resources, so it is often more effective to unlock a few high-value nodes than to spread your points across every available upgrade.

Confusing Global boards with other regional versions. Some guides show different boards or progression options. Always check that the information applies to AION 2 Global before planning your character around it.

Ignoring other progression systems. Daevanion is important, but it works alongside equipment, skills, Arcana, collections, and other upgrades. If you are struggling to progress, check whether a different system offers a better improvement for your current resources.

Final Thoughts

The Daevanion Board is one of the most useful ways to develop your AION 2 character beyond ordinary leveling and equipment upgrades. The biggest improvement comes from knowing which nodes matter, planning efficient routes, and spending points on upgrades that support your build.

Start with Nezekan, prioritize the skills you rely on, and gradually work toward the strongest nodes available on each board. As you unlock Zikel, Vaizel, and Triniel, adapt your plan to your class and progression goals. Once you reach level 45, consider Azphel if PvP is an important part of your playstyle.

Keep your character's wider progression in mind as well. Combining Daevanion upgrades with suitable equipment and skill development is a more reliable way to become stronger than investing everything into a single system.
